Wednesday, September 01, 2010 Rolling Stone Raves about Jerry Lee Lewis' new album! They call him "the original archetypal rock & roll rebel" who is "still pulverizing the piano keys". Rolling Stone wrote that with Mean Old Man "Lewis shows the decades-younger Kid Rock and Slash how to do it". Half a century after he recorded "Great Balls of Fire", Jerry Lee Lewis continues to attract new fans, with what Rolling Stone called "the voice of a man who has seen, and done, it all." The album is being called heartfelt and down-home with "delicious swagger" that includes other music legends. Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Wille Nelson and Keith Richards are among a list of greats who are featured with Lewis, on the much anticipated, Mean Old Man

MOLLY HATCHET has dedicated this haunting track to seven-year-old Somer Thompson from Florida, who was abused and brutally murdered. Bobby Ingram and the band supported Somer’s parents when they needed help. They played a charity concert to raise money and inform the public about Somers life and death. Somer’s sister Abby Thompson sings at the beginning and end of the track. Ingram says, although someone has been arrested, and indications are that he killed Somer "...we will be fair and not prematurely judge him until all questions have been answered. That’s also part of true Justice." Justice is MOLLY HATCHET ar their best!

On August 23, 2008 received an email from Phyllis Greiner of Variety Attractions

To Whom it may concern:

I had the pleasure of working with Brian Howe in Cary, OH.  He was a delight to the audience (a huge crowd) the Buyer and myself.  A great show.

He went out of his way to please everyone.  His manager (Karla Buchanan) was also well organized.  Everyone was great to work with and Brian  has a lot of talent on the stage and off the stage.  I would not hesitate to book him again.

Email sent to Mark from Rockin The Rivers in Three Forks, MT

Mark I have to thank you for the wonderful lineup of professional artists.  It was so wonderful working with you and the acts.  Brian Howe is the ultimate professional.  Working the crowd and putting on a great performance.  He was more than willing to meet the fans and sign autographs for fans.  It was a pleasure workingwith him and talking with him in person.

Manny is a hall of fame act.  His energy and style are so impressive.  The band had all the fans on their feet dancing and singing along.  Nazareth with Manny rocks!!

Blackfoot and Greg T. Walker were so much fun.  Great individuals and great musicians.  Southern rockers and northern fans are a great mix for a party atmosphere.  They guys were so easy to work with and the music was unbelievable.  I wish I would have scheduled them in a later time slot.  The fans loved them.

Again, thanks for working with Rockin The Rivers.  You helped make our event an outstanding success.  We'll have these bands back in the future.

Letter received from Harold Phillips, Fairground Manager for Douglas County Fair in Roseburg, OR , regarding the Bad Company former lead singer BRIAN HOWE show on August 7, 2008

Good Morning Mark,  I just wanted to tell you how pleased I and the many concert attendes were with last night's performance.  I wasn't expecting a large crowd or too much energy from the artist because of it being a fly-date.  To my surprise we had our largest audience so far of the week (7,000) and Brian performed and connected with the audience with high energy and great vocals.  Our beer sales came in higher than expected and the fans were on their feet and engaged.  Please pass my thanks on to him and please feel free to use me as a recommendation anytime

Sincerely,

Harold Phillips

Great Lakes Jam Music Festival, Meaford, Ontario, Canada, Fri. Aug. 27th to Sun. Aug. 29th, 2004
-- by Joe Curtis --

Brian Howe, former vocalist with Bad Company, opened the show Sunday, Aug. 29th. Of worthy note is the total professionalism that Howe demonstrated in making sure the show went on when the rain came down. He and his great band when asked if they'd play the beer tent instead of the main outdoor stage during a heavy rain, replied "No problem!" The promoters felt Howe's attitude was outstanding, as was the show he put on. The fans packed the beer tent at this point, and everybody rocked! There was a great sound system here too, which really showed off Howe and his fine band to best advantage in the many Bad Company hits and others they played. It's refreshing to see a positive attitude in an emergency like this from Howe, who assessed the situation and put the show before himself - which makes him and his band real pros in the way it really counts!

The New Percy Sledge Album "Shining Throught The Rain" in stores August 31st

Almost 10 years after the release of his acclaimed, Grammy-nominated "Blue Night" album, Percy Sledge hopes he's about to add another batch of classics to his repertoire. His forthcoming "Shining Through the Rain"CD, due Aug. 31, reunites Sledge with veteran roots music producers Saul Davis and Barry Goldberg, the team that crafted "Blue Night" in 1994.

"When I go to work with those guys, it's like heaven," Sledge, 63, said this week from his home in Baton Rouge. "It's just a lot of fun, especially at this age that I am now, to still have fun recording."

For the "Shining Through the Rain" sessions in Los Angeles, co-producers Davis and Goldberg assembled a team of renowned Southern music session musicians and such special guests as Jakob Dylan, leader of the roots rock band the Wallflowers. Recording on vintage equipment, they backed Sledge on a diverse program of material.

Included on the album is the Steve Earle composition "My Old Friend the Blues," and The Bee Gees' penned "A Lonely Violin," written for "Shining Through the Rain." Sledge is especially proud of the album's title track and its version of Jackie Lomax's "Fall Inside Your Eyes."
